The Reed Hotel

The restaurant meals and drinks were nice, and the wait staff were lovely. Our room also had good views. But housekeeping was ordinary, breakfast felt chaotic, and the staff seemed inattentive or too few. They also insisted our travelling companions had stolen a robe, which they hadn’t, but made them pay for it.

I finally got a comfortable night’s sleep after more than a week, and felt so relaxed. The rooms were clean and cool, the beds huge and really comfortable, and the pool was gorgeous and lovely and warm for swimming. The aria cafe was fabulous value, and the food was great.

The views of the city or river are beautiful, and the hotel is very close to the Hoa Lu Ancient Town area. There’s a breakfast buffet and bicycle rental. It’s a four-star hotel that feels worth the price, with good service, clean, fresh-smelling rooms, and facilities including a spa and gym. A good stay.

The staff were super friendly and seemed to know what I needed. When my room’s air conditioner wasn’t working properly, I asked to move, and the front desk quickly found me another room and even upgraded me. Breakfast had a decent range. The hotel is a bit far from most tourist spots, so I’d suggest installing Grab to make getting around easier. A couple of things could be better: the gym is fine for light workouts, but could use more machines, especially with all the space available. Staff English isn’t very strong yet, so communication can sometimes be tricky, particularly at the restaurant. Google Translate may help. I booked online for my Vietnam trip and stayed two nights.
