Trang An Mountain House - Hostel

Our room opened straight onto the pool, tucked between the mountains, and the place felt wonderfully peaceful. It's about a 20-minute taxi ride from Tam Coc town, so it's quiet, though a bit out of the way if you want to be in the hustle and bustle. Trang An is a scenic 20-minute cycle away. The owners are a lovely family and were so accommodating when we arrived at 4 am. They took us to our room and let us check in properly the next morning when we woke up. The room and beds were very comfortable, with both a fan and AC. A lovely spot if you want to relax and unwind in the mountains, and I'd highly recommend it.

There was construction during our visit, so it got pretty noisy in the daytime. That's not the usual situation, and I'm sure it'll be even better when the work is done. After a busy day, the pool was lovely for unwinding, and the pizzas were great. Renting bikes through the hotel was easy and convenient. They also did our laundry very quickly for what we paid. It's a great spot among beautiful karate cliffs.

I ended up at this place by mistake after booking a homestay with a similar name, arriving here at 3 am. Honestly, it was the best accident. They were fully booked, but the owner insisted on giving me a room for the night since there was no Grab available. He, the receptionist, and his family were some of the nicest people I've met, and the hospitality was so welcoming. If you want to stay near some of Ninh Binh's prettiest views, I'd recommend it. I rented a bike and spent the day wandering around.

We found beard shavings on the bathroom shelf above the sink when we arrived, including on the mugs. We had room service for three days, but that shelf was never cleaned. The staff were funny, friendly, and very welcoming, and even gave us a bracelet when we left. The area was nice and quiet, on a road among the mountains, and it was easy to get to Tam coc and elsewhere. Outside our room was a lovely lake with koi, frogs, and other little creatures.
