La Vela Hue Hotel

The gym was the main letdown. For a hotel in this category, I expected a bigger, better-equipped fitness area. It was tiny, with very few machines and barely enough space to exercise properly, more like a token gym than somewhere for real training. That disappointed me as someone who likes to work out while traveling. There was a useful perk, though: guests can borrow free electric motorbikes for up to six hours by leaving a passport as a deposit. It’s a handy way to get around Hue and see places like the Imperial City or the Perfume River without renting elsewhere. I was also impressed by the rooftop infinity pool and its panoramic city view. The weather wasn’t warm enough for a swim during my visit, but I went up to see it and loved the design, comfortable sunbeds, and peaceful atmosphere. I can imagine it’d be a great place for a drink and sunset in summer. The buffet breakfast was another highlight, one of the most complete I’ve seen in a Vietnamese hotel, with Asian and Western choices like fruit, pastries, bread, noodles, eggs, meat, salads, juice, and coffee. It all tasted fresh and was nicely presented, and the staff kept the tables clear and replenished anything that ran out. The room itself was spectacular, spacious, bright, and fitted with everything a traveler might need. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the large windows looked out over the city, and the room felt calm and relaxing. The bathroom had a big rain shower with instant hot water and great pressure, perfect after a long day walking around Hue. La Vela Hue Hotel is one of the most beautiful and well-designed hotels in Hue. Its architecture, interior design, and attention to detail make it stand out. Everything felt new, modern, and elegant while still welcoming and comfortable. Overall, I had an excellent stay. The rooms, breakfast, and other facilities were top-notch, and the staff were professional and kind. I’d gladly recommend it and stay again. A solid 4-star experience.

The touch-screen controls are a clever feature. You can tap “make up room” or “DND” on the panel, and the matching icon lights up in the corridor by your room. The place is beautiful, with clean rooms, bathtubs, and friendly, welcoming staff who speak English. Breakfast was decent for the price, though not the best. It’s also just a three-minute Grab ride to AEON MALL. Highly recommended.

Tung at Nha Vien restaurant was so friendly, hardworking, and helpful. He even shared his own suggestions with the chef to make sure we got a proper vegetarian meal. We wish him all the best.

We stayed here thanks to a generous friend, and it was such a lovely treat. The hotel was delightful, but the staff were even better, so attentive, approachable, and helpful.
