The staff were warm, friendly, and welcoming, and the common areas were extremely clean. But the rooms felt worn, with dirty walls, and the bed was uncomfortable because its broken springs made a lot of noise. The shower sits in the middle of the bathroom, so the whole floor gets wet when you use it. You also have to take your shoes off before going to your room. Maybe I expected too much after reading all the great reviews, but this place just wasn't for me. For the same price, or $5 more a night, you can find somewhere much nicer. Still, I can see how it might suit some people based on the reviews.

The owner really made this stay special. She's a delightful woman, organized everything beautifully, and was never put out by a request. When I left, she even gave me a Vietnamese hug, which touched me. I booked a six-bed dorm and it was outstanding. The beds were comfortable, the room stayed nice and cool, and the bathroom was clean and adequately fitted. I couldn't get a warm shower, though. Breakfast was included, with eggs, fruit, and coffee. Do yourself a favor and book in here.

The street out front becomes a walking street at night, and it's very quiet then. The room was amazing, and the owners were incredibly nice and helpful. They recommended Maison Trang, which was a really good restaurant. This is probably the best accommodation I've stayed in so far.

The furnishings are a little daggy, but this hostel is amazing value for a spot right in the heart of the tourist district. It's run by a friendly family and sits down a quiet laneway. The rooms are super clean, with double glazed windows, air con, and TV.
