Share Dorm Hostel

We booked a room on Hostelworld for 390k dong and left a 50k deposit. At arrival they tried to charge us 600k. We refused and eventually paid 380k, even though we should have owed only the remaining 340k. The next day our bus was cancelled, so we needed another night. The lady at reception said there was no room for less than 600k, even though Hostelworld showed plenty of cheaper rooms. We changed hotels. I'm now seeing that someone else was told their room wasn't available that same day, so this seems to be a recurring issue with the hostel.

We had a reservation, but at check-in they said every room was taken. They didn’t offer any help finding somewhere else to stay, and the service was rude. I lost my deposit through Hostelworld.

The staff were great, and the cold beer was the best. Best hostel in Hue.

Breakfast came with the stay, with a choice of baguette and eggs prepared scrambled, fried, or as an omelette, or bread with one of several jams. The dorm beds were comfortable and roomy enough for me at 190 cm to stretch out. There were six private bathrooms for the dorms, and they were clean. The room and lockers did smell of mold, though. Otherwise, things were fine. For dinner nearby, Little Owl pub and restaurant had good prices and tasty Vietnamese food.
