Thanh Phat Hotel

For a budget hotel, this felt like good value and a little different from others. The room was clean and comfortable, with a Samsung TV carrying lots of English-language channels, including HBO, Discovery, Hollywood Classics, and CNN. There was also a Philips kettle and Toshiba hair dryer. The receptionists spoke Mandarin and English. I’d stay here again if I came back to the area.

The hotel itself was great, with a big, clean room, all the facilities I needed, and a very good hot shower. It was quiet despite karaoke happening up the road. The receptionist was thoughtful and really helpful, and although I hadn’t ordered breakfast ahead, I could still get one in the morning. There was a good choice, and it was tasty and very cheap. The room smelled a little musty at first, but fresh air through the open windows cleared it quickly. The area is pretty unpleasant, with the Formosa steel works, built here in the last 10 years, pumping smoke and chemicals into the sky. The hotel’s a superb place in a grotty location, and I’d highly recommend it.

The service was very good, and I’ll choose this hotel again for my next business trip. Parking is convenient, the price is in line with the market, and the coffee is good and free. There’s a nice corner to sit, meet, and enjoy it.

For a three-star standard in Ky Long community, the price is fair. The room was clean, and the staff could speak Chinese. There are several restaurants around the hotel, about a 10-minute walk away.
