We stayed here because the hotel allowed our cat. The bed linen and towels were good, the Wi-Fi was good, and the booking was cheap. I also liked the bright room, large windows, balcony, huge mango tree outside the window, and good shower pressure. But it’s an old hotel, so the furniture and plumbing are old too, and I wouldn’t expect miracles. There’s no elevator. The room cleaning was very bad: we arrived to a dirty floor with hair and dust left by previous guests, and it felt dirty and dusty everywhere. The whole hotel, including reception, needs a serious deep clean. The old furniture in the small room wasn’t functional either.

The room was decent, but the bath plug wouldn’t come out, so it filled with water and sand and drained very slowly. The bigger problem was the cockroaches. They appeared on day one, and by the time we left we’d killed about eight. If they offer you room 102 soon, ask for a different room on another floor.

I booked eight nights for the price, location, and jacuzzi tub, but we stayed only one. On arrival they tried to put us in a different room without a jacuzzi, so we asked for the one we’d booked. The jacuzzi didn’t work, and the bathtub had no working bath faucet or shower curtain. The mattress needed replacing.

The only upside was that it’s not far from the sea, but everything else outweighed that. The rooms are old, and they don’t seem to know much about cleaning or hot water. I never got any hot water during my stay. To make matters worse, they initially refused to check us in because of the price we’d already paid in advance. That was unpleasant late at night after a long journey.

It’s in a quiet area and the price was cheap, so it worked well for relaxing. The beach is just a two-minute walk away. Our room was clean and well equipped, and the staff were cheerful and friendly. It was good, and I’ll come back.
