The sleep was rough: bedsheets were used as duvets, and traffic outside came through the thin walls loud and clear. At checkout, we asked the receptionist to hold our bags for about an hour until our bus arrived. She said no and wanted another 100.000 for it. I’ve never had that happen before. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We moved to 1001 Hotel after a stay at a large resort, since we wanted to get out and enjoy the restaurants and activities nearby instead of having everything in one place. That worked out really well. The hotel is simple, but very clean, with covered parking and a pool. It’s right on the street, so it was easy to head out for food, a massage, or whatever, and the kitesurfing beach is walkable.

There are lots of shops and street food nearby, and the beach is close enough for a walk around. The staff were friendly, which was nice, but we found some trash under the bed. There’s no lift either. We were only on the second floor, but carrying all our luggage while looking after our five-year-old was difficult.

The price was really good for what we got, and I was happy with the stay. The room was comfortable, with the major beaches for windsurfing and surfing nearby. Better Wi-Fi would help, and an in-room safe would be a nice addition.

The lighting inside and out made arriving at night feel safe. The beds were comfortable, and the service was good.
