Hai Dang Resort

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!!! The resort seems to have been hit hard by the COVID epidemic and has never recovered. It hasn’t been maintained or looked after, and it feels as if the owner is just trying to get the investment back before closing the resort. It’s sad, because it has all the infrastructure and facilities to be great if it were managed properly.

We were supposed to stay for two nights, but left after the first. The hotel refused to refund the unused night, and we were charged too much for small bottles of warm water from the minibar. I won't be back. The resort is a long way from town, so there's no shop across the road to help if something goes wrong. It may have been a three-star place five years ago, but it hasn't been cared for lately. The pool lining is coming loose and the water is murky. There was rubbish and broken glass on the beach, cockroaches and geckos in the room, and the toilet leaked onto the floor when flushed. Some rooms had broken air conditioning. They said the minibar was only meant to cool things, not work as a fridge, which rather defeats the point. There was no fruit or fruit juice at the bar for the kids, and the beer was six months past its date.

The rooms were spacious, furnished nicely, and had comfortable mattresses, with plenty of extras to make the stay pleasant. I was impressed by the setting too, with lovely ocean and hillside views. I recently had the chance to visit Blue Bay Muine Resort and came away quite pleased.

The breakfast that came with the stay was very limited. There was no cereal for the kids, and the coffee was absolutely disgusting. My son went to bed hungry because the restaurant didn't have suitable food for children. The french fries were sold out, and the vegetable noodles we ordered were too spicy for the kids to eat. The staff were rude and unhelpful. When I asked for the manager, I was told they were off, and someone hung up on me because they didn't speak English. The resort's Wifi barely worked, so I had to pay for 3G. There was no evening entertainment or music, and the pool table cost 200k vnd an hour. The place could be nice, but it's not maintained. Paint is flaking off the walls, the garden hasn't been watered and the soil is turning to sand, and the swimming pool was very dirty. The food was disappointing too. Deffinately never coming back.
