Sandunes Beach Resort & Spa

The bed was comfortable and the room had all the necessary amenities, so it was okay. But the price was outrageous, almost $200 for three nights. For that amount, we expected somewhere luxurious and spotless, and it wasn’t. What we got shouldn’t have cost more than $50.

They lost the room key, so we had to wait an hour 😅😅😅

There was no water reaching the sixth floor, so taking a shower was a struggle. The place felt like a construction site, with rubble everywhere, and it didn’t feel like a resort or a four-star hotel. They were burning something in the garden, and the smoke made it hard to breathe in 36-degree heat. There was no electricity in the room, and no internet or air conditioning at the entrance. While waiting to check in, I went to the nearby Astoria Hotel to cool down and get a drink. At breakfast, a man repeatedly came over with stupid questions and tried to get me to fill out and sign a form in Vietnamese. It was probably a review form, but he kept insisting after I said I couldn’t sign something I didn’t understand. Stay away from this „hotel“.

The staff were kind, which was the best part of our stay. The room itself was fine, but the food and pool really let the place down. Breakfast had a buffet, though there wasn't much variety. The noodles were dry and the desserts tasted bad. The pool was dirty and smelled sour. A friend's room had an air conditioner that didn't cool well, and the toilet was smaller than at other 4-star resorts. My aunt's bathtub was blocked, so the water wouldn't drain and they had to scoop it out by hand. We booked for a resort experience, but our family was given rooms that felt like hotel rooms on the 5th floor, with no outdoor space like we expected. My aunt was furious. We chose a resort because we wanted a resort, not a damn hotel. 🤬🤬 This place isn't worth 4 stars.
