Thuy - Gunter Garden Bungalow

The bed was very comfortable, and the practical bungalow cooled down well at night thanks to its design, so the fans were enough even without air conditioning. The owner is an incredible person who is very willing to help and meet guests' needs. At the same time, she needs training in how to manage the place. With more knowledge of hospitality, it could be outstanding.

The unit had plenty of space, a pleasant setting, a useful kitchen, and a good fridge. I also appreciated being able to refill water for free. There’s a friendly vegetarian restaurant nearby, and the Fairy Stream is an easy walk, fun to visit on a hot afternoon. But the room smelled strongly of sewage the whole time, and there were animals living inside. It was hot without air conditioning, though the nights were cooler when we visited in August. The bed was very hard, and hot water came only once in a while. The beach is close, but the sand and water were so full of rubbish that we didn’t want to use it. That’s not the hotel’s fault, but it was really bad.

The family running the place were very welcoming, and our terrace with a table and chairs was a nice touch. It’s on a quiet little street, a bit farther along the tourist area. The price was good for what we got. It felt more like a studio than a bungalow, with a big bed, spacious bathroom, large fridge, and a fully equipped kitchen for cooking. You can rent a scooter there too, which I’d recommend.

I was traveling alone and really enjoyed my two nights here. The garden is well kept, and the rooms are roomy, with a kitchenette, fridge, and separate bathroom in each bungalow. There’s no air conditioning, but they provide fans and a net for the bed. The staff were very friendly and could arrange tours or bus tickets, and motorbikes are available to rent too.
