Son River House

The hosts' warmth stood out most to me. They were so friendly, offered local tips, and made delicious meals at home. Breakfast was fresh and filling, often with local ingredients. I loved unwinding on the terrace in the evening and listening to nature. The peaceful setting by the Son River has lovely views of the water and nearby mountains, and it felt like a real break from city life. My room was clean and comfortable, with traditional touches in the decor. Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park is only a short drive away, so it's a handy base for exploring. I had a wonderful stay at Son River Homestay and highly recommend it for a warm, authentic, peaceful experience in central Vietnam.

After two weeks of rushing from place to place, I found Son’s River House peaceful and relaxing. The host was very sweet and helpful, and the setting right beside that beautiful view was wonderful. I only stayed one night and wish I could've spent more time there. If you get the chance, book a couple of nights and just sit back and unwind. I'll definitely visit again in the future! Also, try getting up early for coffee if you can, the morning is quite beautiful.

The woman looking after the homestay was the sweetest, and getting to chat with her during the quieter low season was my favorite part. I really hope to come back soon. The rooms were new and super clean, and the AC was the quietest I've ever had. There was plenty of room in the yard to sit outside, eat, and take in the view. The property is right by the river, with steps down to swim in the green water, mountains all around, and a Stand-up paddel board you can borrow to explore a little. It's a bit far from the busy part of the road, but that wasn't a problem with a motorbike. A great spot for groups who want to hang out, order food, and enjoy the breeze. I didn't want to leave!

The room was really dirty, and I doubt they even changed the sheets after the previous guests. They were also doing construction work on the property in the evening, which made it hard to relax. The staff were very nice and happy to help, and the location and river view were amazing, but unfortunately I can't recommend this hotel.
