Bungalow Mai Phuong Binh

A lovely spot to unwind in Phu Quoc. The pool was really nice, our room was clean, and the staff were friendly. I thought breakfast could be a little better, but it was still an amazing place to stay.

The pool was nice and the staff were super friendly. Our room was okay, though most of the other guests looked pretty grouchy, maybe nine out of ten of them.

The staff were so kind, and the breakfast had a delicious spread with plenty to choose from. There’s a nice pool to relax by, and they can lend you beach towels. Our room was cleaned every morning, and everything we needed was within 100m, including a clean beach, shops, places to eat, and a pharmacy. It was easy to get to both the north and south of the island, about a 30-minute bike ride to either side. Wifi worked well enough for me to work without interruptions or lag. We really enjoyed our stay, and the price felt fair for what we got. HIGHLY recommend ❤️

The gardens are lovely and clearly get a lot of care, with regular pruning and repotting. I also liked that the pool gets plenty of sun, so the water wasn’t as cold as in many other places. I stayed in bungalow 10, which was huge, with a large kitchen if you want to cook. There were two double beds in the bedroom, an efficient A/C unit there, and a standing fan to cool the rest of the space. The toilet sometimes wouldn’t flush properly and occasionally the water was stained, but it didn’t ruin my stay. The owners’ dogs run the place, though they’re very friendly. Breakfast is served at the sister property about 50m away, and I thought it was very good, with lots of options plus an egg and pancake station. They even decorated my bed for my birthday. I loved staying here, especially as a change from high-rise hotels. The towels aren’t as thick and you don’t get some of the little things you’d expect at a four-star place, like tissues, tea, and coffee, but the welcome was just as warm.
