Laputa Hotel Phu Quoc

I had planned to stay two days, then added two more because the accommodation was comfortable and easy to get around from. The host was responsive and helpful throughout, and there were plenty of recreational activities. Everything was great. The free breakfast buffet had a wide selection.

The location is the best thing about this hotel. Apart from that, it’s an average place. We first had a second-floor room, but at night there was a noise inside the wall, maybe a mouse or something. We moved to the fifth floor and it was okay there.

We stayed January 6-10, 2026. Four guests had only two blankets for the remaining nights, after the hotel removed two of the extra blankets the day after initially providing them, saying inventory was limited. We were charged 1,200,000 VND for the additional guest, or 300,000 VND per night. Housekeeping was delayed and only done after repeated requests, and towels and basic supplies were also slow to arrive. The hotel later acknowledged staff shortages and limited inventory but refused a partial refund. Peak season doesn’t excuse taking basic bedding away from paying guests. Travelers should check in advance whether there’s enough inventory before booking. We hope management improves basic hotel service standards.

The beach is amazing and just moments away, and the location is gold. The rooms are OK, but the bathroom less so: the shower is clogged and water pools on the floor. We preferred breakfast from the Vietnamese baguette sandwich places on the parallel street to what the hotel offered. The staff had left a cute edible Christmas gift in the room for every guest, a very kind gesture. The instant coffee in the room is too sugary, though that seems common in Vietnam.
