Thala Hotel Sorrento

The room worked well for me, with enough storage, a firm but not hard bed, good shower pressure, and okay Wi-Fi. The receptionist, though, seemed very apathetic. I didn’t feel welcome, and there was no flexibility about checkout.

I felt completely unsafe here. When I went out, I couldn’t lock my room door, and despite reporting it three or four times, nothing was repaired. Staff kept telling me the technician was on holiday. I had valuables in the room, so I couldn’t feel secure leaving my things behind. The hotel said it was fully booked for the holiday, but offered no room change, compensation, or other real fix. Nobody followed up or took responsibility. I had to keep asking whether anything had been done, and still the problem wasn’t resolved. This level of negligence is unacceptable, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

A lovely little hotel in a good spot, with comfortable, clean rooms and really helpful staff. I’m giving it four stars because of a couple of small niggles, but it’s a great place to stay. Thank you.

We spent three nights here. The beds were big and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It’s well located near the cable car station. I’d definitely recommend it.
