We stayed for two weeks, and May Hotel is clear that it's a 2-star place in the centre of Sonasea. It was exactly what we expected: a comfortable, clean place with a gym, right in the middle of everything. The staff were pleasant and helpful, and the rooms are a good size. They cleaned ours whenever we left the keycard at reception. The light made it harder to sleep at night, though the noise wasn't too bad. My only complaint is that the curtains could be thicker.

Booking.com says pets are allowed, but the hotel doesn't accept them. I only found out because I messaged ahead, otherwise I would have arrived and been turned away. They say it was a simple mistake, but that leaves me questioning how professional and reliable they are as accommodation providers.

Mould everywhere and a nasty smell. The worst hotel on the island. I wouldn't stay here even if they paid me.

The rooms are decent, but the breakfast is limited and crowded, and they keep running out of cups. We went in June. The hotel is down a dark alley, far from the night market and dining, with nothing within walking distance. Many nearby hotels have gone out of business. The front desk tries to take advantage of guests instead of helping. Don't use the hotel's car service, the price is ridiculous because the guests are tourists. Not many taxis want to pick people up from this hotel either.

The room was dirty and messy, and the air conditioning seemed broken. It wasn't cold.
