The area was just what we wanted, quiet and peaceful, but still close enough to walk to the beach and local restaurants. We loved the fresh breakfast, especially picking fruit grown on the property 🥭🍈 Our cottage was cozy, spotless, and well cared for. The outdoor bathroom and shower made it feel special and close to nature. From the moment we arrived, the host and her family made us feel welcome and comfortable. They put so much heart into looking after the place, and it’s a shame when some guests don’t return that kindness and instead create awkward situations. We were very happy with our stay and would love to come back someday. 💛

I ended up staying for two months and already want to return for the peace and natural beauty. Pomelo Garden is quiet and grounding, and the wooden bungalow was my favorite. Its big screen-like windows felt like watching nature on TV, and I don’t even watch TV. It was a lovely place to work remotely. The houses are spaced apart, so it feels more like having your own home than being in a resort. I loved that concept. It’s about a 10-minute walk to Phu Quoc village and around 20 minutes to the beach, and the bicycles they provide made getting around easy. There’s no kitchen, but as a fruitarian who mostly eats fruit and salads, I managed fine. The bathroom is connected to the house but open to the sky, which felt romantic and unusual. Rain made trips to the toilet inconvenient sometimes, though that comes with staying close to nature. The buildings show their age, and nature is creeping in. I found that added charm, but the terrace and a few other spots have wear from rain and humidity and could use repairs. The internet was poor at one point, but the host did everything she could to get it working again, which I appreciated. Even when evenings were dark, especially near the end of the season when there were fewer guests, I always felt safe.

We loved the peaceful setting and the home-cooked breakfast. My partner and I stayed four nights, surrounded by fruit trees whose fruit guests can pick for free. The family running the place were so friendly and helpful, and the service was excellent. Bikes are free to use, and scooter rentals are reasonably priced, with new scooters. Thanks for making our first time in Phú Quốc so lovely. We’d stay again next time we’re here.

We arrived in Phu Quoc after a long trip and went straight to the hotel we’d booked through Booking. The room we were shown was filthy and neglected, and we left immediately. My partner and I didn’t even stop to debate it. After traveling in many countries for 10 years, I’ve never felt so scammed or angry. The listing described a private 50 m² “cabin,” but what we got was more like a tiny room, maybe 15 m² at most. It was basically a bungalow sharing a wall with another couple’s space, with no soundproofing or privacy. We could hear everything they said and did, including bathroom sounds. The condition was shocking. There was woodworm damage, cobwebs, patchy repairs, holes in the door sealed with spray foam and plastic, and a mosquito net with holes, some covered with paper. Black streaks were dripping from the ceiling, and there were rat droppings. It didn’t feel clean or safe. A couple of hours before check-in, the property messaged that they couldn’t accept our Visa card. We said we’d pay by card at reception, but then the receptionist told us there would be an extra 3% fee. It felt like they were trying to pass their costs to guests and get more money at the last minute. We refused and said we’d pay cash the next day if they really wouldn’t take the card without a surcharge. I’m relieved we didn’t pay upfront. The listing was misleading and everything felt disorganized and dishonest from the start. They should show real photos that match the place. Don’t trust what you see on Booking. If you’re considering staying here, get a second opinion or avoid it. I’m attaching photos of what we found when we arrived in Phu Quoc.

We weren’t even staying at this family-run hotel. We arrived there by mistake because of a booking error, but Aimy treated us with so much kindness and generosity. She helped us find another hotel, scooters, and reservations on an island that was fully booked. Aimée was warm, caring, always available, and clearly committed to helping people. The place has lovely energy, and I can recommend it 200% 💯❣️ especially because Aimy puts her heart into welcoming others.
