Skyline Hotel Phu Quoc

We booked this place the day before because we had checked out of our villa early, our flight wasn't until midnight, and two friends were feeling unwell. We just wanted somewhere to rest. The room was spacious, with two bedrooms, and relatively clean, though we wiped things down ourselves. But the whole arrival felt strange. There was a sleeping security guard in a hammock outside, workers playing cards nearby, and the building looked closed even though it was around noon. We couldn't find the entrance until the guard called out to us. He didn't speak English, which we understood, so we used Google Translate. Inside, the lobby was dark and completely empty, with no reception, concierge, or other staff. I almost grabbed my friends and ran, it felt like the start of a bad horror movie. The guard checked my booking three times before bringing us a key and showing us the room. Some things in the room bothered me: there was what looked like bug or rodent repellent under the bedside tables, a cigarette box outside the window ledge, and stains all over the couch. I didn't sit on or touch it. The rooms themselves were fine, but the experience was just odd. I'm honestly confused about the place and the 5-star reviews. It was supposed to be a 3-star hotel, but felt more like a 2-star compared with other 3-star places I've stayed in Asia. I wouldn't go back.

We really liked our stay, and Long at reception was especially polite and gave superb service. He promptly arranged the hotel buggy, a golf cart, to take our family to and from the beach. Khem beach is close enough to walk to, though the buggy was a plus with small children. The cleaning staff did a good job and replaced the water and towels every day. Our room was newly renovated, stylish, clean, and comfortable; the rooms each have a different country theme, such as Vietnam, Morocco, or Europe. There are several good restaurants and cafes nearby, along with 24-hour shops for everyday needs. After we left, I realized I'd forgotten my gold chain in the room. Long told me they had found it and that I could pick it up any time, which made me very happy. I can definitely recommend Skyline hotel and would gladly stay again.

The staff were nice, and so was the hotel. There’s no food, though, so you have to buy it nearby, where prices are three times higher.

The balcony had a nice view beside a big golf course field, and the staff's hospitality made us feel welcome. We stayed two nights while exploring the island, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The location was convenient and the staff friendly. I was surprised to find the room perfectly neat and clean after we'd left. They also offer a golf cart for getting around inside and outside the property. I'd definitely try it again if we visit.
