The pool photos may give the wrong impression. The so-called infinity pool faces a rocky shore, not a beach you can use, so we walked to a neighboring hotel to find proper sand. We also asked for beach towels and were told there weren’t any, despite the hotel being by the beach. Breakfast was poor, with very few choices and a toaster that didn’t work. Our first room, 211, was old, rusty and badly maintained. Showering was a real problem because the corroded joints didn’t work properly and the bathroom flooded. After a long argument with reception, we were moved to 402 as an “upgrade,” but it was just as worn and far below an acceptable standard. The front desk staff were impolite and unfriendly, and nobody we dealt with spoke English, making even simple communication difficult. This place is old and neglected, nowhere near what the photos suggest about a five-star hotel, and it doesn’t meet the basic standard I’d expect even from an unrated property. This is the first negative review I’ve ever written, and I’m writing it out of frustration and disappointment.
