Terrace Resort

I booked last minute after another hotel cancelled. For 4.5 million dong, I got a depressing, stark, bare room with no bulb in the sidelight and a bed like a rock. Far too expensive for such a basic room, basically a rip-off. On the plus side, I left before taking the room and got my money back from an honest, helpful guy in the reception office. It's also away from the noise of the main strip. It just scrapes two stars.

The welcome here is incredibly warm for a three-star resort, and the facilities were in great shape when it opened in early 2018. If you're after a quiet resort near the beach, Terrace Resort could be the right spot. It has 18 bungalows facing a 25-meter pool. They're built with red ceramic roofs in a Vietnamese vintage style, surrounded by green lawn and tropical plants, including some fruit and herb plants. During low season, they can arrange an SUV to pick you up and drop you at the airport.

We couldn't stay because the bed was physically impossible to sleep in. Everything was moldy, the toilet was dirty, and the sheets had stains and hair. We asked for them to be changed, but the replacement was still dirty, moldy and stained. The owner promised to refund one night but never did. Please check before staying, because dealing with these problems took up our whole vacation day. We paid for 22/01-24/01.

The staff were helpful, and the hotel sits in a quiet spot that’s still close to pretty much everything. The night market, bars, and restaurants are all a short walk away. Getting a taxi into the little alley can be tricky, though drivers do come in; it’s quicker to walk about 50 feet out to meet one.
