We picked the fish because we liked the decor in the photos and the homestay’s location, but the stay gave us even more. The family who owns it were so welcoming and hospitable. The father offered to take us on a secret trek to a local waterfall, and it made for a fun day trip to a stunning spot. The family also runs a lovely little coffee shop down the street, so check it out. Our room was adorable, with thoughtful details that made it feel cosy. Would definitely recommend!

The room was quite nice, and the owners were kind. We stayed five nights but barely saw them, even when we needed them. We used Google Translate for everything, but that wasn’t a problem for us. One issue: when it rains heavily, water runs under the door and into the room.

It’s a lovely-looking house, and the place is nice and cheap. The room was cleaned every day and had fresh towels. The mattress was a little too firm.

The view was nice, and the dog was amazing, friendly and cute. I had a twin room with an artsy sort of picture decor. The fish isn’t far from the center, but it’s better to rent a motorbike so you can get around town and explore nearby beaches or fishing villages like Rach Vem and Ganh Dau.

There’s a nice outdoor spot with trees and palms where you can sit and relax, though the mosquitoes can be a bother. It’s a small, cosy, rustic coffee shop and restaurant with places to stay, including bunk beds, cottages and even a tree house. It’s down a little lane, about a 10-minute walk to the beach.
