Vung Bau Resort

The staff here are wonderful, with warm, welcoming smiles that put guests in a good mood. The food was good, the view was epic, and the very clean beach helped me relax. I really loved this place. I’d booked a sea view room expecting to be right by the shore, but the pool blocked part of the view, so I couldn’t enjoy it fully. I put up the "do not disturb" sign one morning, yet the room had been cleaned by the time I returned that night. At least the dead cockroach was gone. There were a few dirty spots on the towels, but I’m sure the staff did their best.

This resort is extremely overpriced for what it offers. Its one good feature is the beachfront location, with private beach access. The villa rooms are good, but the bathrooms are in pathetic condition. Apart from the swimming pool, there are no amenities in the resort. Vegetarian choices are very limited, with only specific à la carte options on weekdays. Staff hardly respond to queries, except for the manager. They arrange a breakfast buffet on Sundays. Getting here from the main road is very difficult, though it may suit people who enjoy off-roading.

The Moto Nomad trip with Marc gave us a great way to see more of Phu Quoc. We rode along the coast, stopped at a quiet beach and a local coffee shop, then went off-road through the national park to a floating village for seafood lunch. We also visited a bee farm and tried honey drinks. It felt like a real glimpse of island life and balanced the resort's relaxing feel perfectly. The resort itself was lovely too, with warm, attentive staff, pretty grounds, and a gorgeous pool. Our room was spotless and roomy, with a view I'll remember. I’d happily recommend the resort and tour together.

A perfect place to relax and recharge, with lovely staff, especially Lann_ pretty. The road there is long and bumpy. Showers are better around midday since they're solar.
