Cat Cat Hotel

We were grateful for the surprise free upgrade to a family room, and everyone on staff was welcoming and friendly. The breakfast buffet was decent and a nice start to the day. The hotel itself is quiet despite being close to lots of restaurants and shops, and only about a five-minute walk from Sun Plaza and the city center. The bathroom setup was the one downside: there isn't a separate shower drain, so water runs toward the floor drain by the toilet and can leave things messy. We'd come back.

The mountain views were amazing, and the staff were friendly and went out of their way to help. Our room was clean, tidy, and modern looking. It's about a seven-minute walk to the main plaza in the city center through the alleyways. I'd happily stay here again if I return to Sapa.

On a clear day you can see the mountains, and with luck even a sea of clouds. The hotel has a European-style look and nice views, though I did worry about privacy because the balconies share a walkway. Rooms are small but have what you need. You ride the elevator to the 7th floor, then take more stairs to reach the room. Hot water lasted only around five minutes, and the Wi-Fi could be faster, though that may vary by room. Breakfast is buffet-style, but there are too few seats for the number of rooms, so some guests couldn't find a place depending on the time. That seems like something to improve. There's also a stylish cafe space along the way, but no staff there, so ordering a drink casually is difficult. The hotel is on the outskirts of Sapa, the mountain resort town in Vietnam. We stayed a few nights as a family of three while traveling through Vietnam. The hotel was spacious and clean, and the valley view was spectacular once the mist cleared. Breakfast had plenty of choices, including eggs cooked fresh on request. Staff were friendly, though laundry service was expensive. Street noise echoes up at night, and I hadn't realized how much partying happens in such a small town.
