Elysian Sapa Hotel

A fairly decent hotel, with quite a large buffet breakfast spread. I do think they offer refills, though the service period is so short that refills aren’t really necessary.

As a solo traveler, I found the room comfortable enough, with a fantastic mountain view and a location handy for walking around downtown. But I wouldn’t stay here with my wife, that would be a different story. Before booking, staff offered to show me a room on the ninth floor. It was beautifully prepared and met all my expectations. Two days later, at check-in, I was assigned room 601 on the sixth floor instead, and it needs several repairs. The air conditioning wouldn’t work despite my efforts, the refrigerator was awkwardly tucked in a corner, a chunk of tile was broken in the bathroom and entryway, and the flooring could use refreshing.

The dining area was surprisingly sophisticated, and the central location in Sapa was fantastic. I liked that the hotel was tucked away but still just a short distance from the main street. The rooms felt airier and nicer than some 5 star hotels I’ve stayed at in Hanoi.

That balcony view was the best part, especially at sunrise. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with all the modern amenities we needed. Staff were friendly and attentive, and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. I had an amazing stay and can’t wait to return. Highly recommended!
