Minh Anh Guesthouse

The room was awful from the start: mould was growing, the cups had cigarette ash in them, someone else's dirty socks were in the bathroom, and water covered the main bedroom floor. There was also a hole in the ceiling that opened onto the corridor, so light came through all night. The sheets felt damp and smelled like old laundry. I left my e-reader behind while packing. A day later I realized where it was and went back for it. They seemed reluctant to return it, then handed it over sheepishly. They had my contact details but never tried to reach me, and seemed set on keeping it. When I used the device again, its settings had been changed and someone had tried connecting it to their Wi-Fi, so I knew they had tried to use it. I've backpacked for months, and this was the worst place I've stayed. I'm disgusted by the whole experience and wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.
