Samu Green Hotel

The cold was the biggest problem for me. It was -1 to -3 degrees Celsius, freezing and foggy, so there was no view, though I know the weather wasn't the hotel's fault. The rooms had no heating at all. The windows were thin-paned and almost open, there were no heated blankets, and bedding was just one thin blanket, a sheet, and a very thin pillow. I could see my breath indoors. Unless you bring sub-zero gear, be ready to freeze. I left after one night of my planned four-night stay and went back to HaNoi, and they refused a refund. The location was also a struggle. It's up a muddy hill above most of the other hotels, which might mean a good view in different weather, but you'll need to haul your luggage uphill or take a taxi. I couldn't find a taxi option. Even after getting there, you'd have to make that trip each day just to get something to eat. I don't mind exercise and usually love a hike, but this location really wasn't ideal. Maybe you'd have better luck in warmer weather, at least above 0.
