Staff were helpful, even with limited English, and let me leave my bag while I was away on a homestay. It’s generally fine for budget backpackers and good value. There’s hot water and an electric blanket, both useful on cold Sapa nights. The place is basic, reasonably clean, but the linen could’ve been fresher and I found crisp packets under the bed. Some corners had mould, and without an extractor fan or vents the rooms seem to get damp. My bed was rock hard by Vietnam standards. It was noisy on the top floor, with construction nearby and dogs and people audible.

Good value for money, with a hot shower and electric blankets for winter since it gets cold. It’s a clean, five-floor hotel, and the corner rooms have big windows. Staff helped book bus tickets and arranged a pickup.

I can’t recommend this place if you need a good night’s sleep after hiking. The bed was hard, you could hear people in other rooms talking through a gap by the restrooms, and the central Sapa location was loud. Staff weren’t helpful, either. I’d stay with village families in a peaceful, quiet area instead. We arrived around 7am and called about checking in early. The receptionist told us to come by and he’d let us know. He said check-in was at 12, but offered us the hotel’s bike for $5 usd for the whole day, suggesting we ride around until then and get a full tank before going far. We followed that advice and went to Fansipan. Back at 11:45, he said we could check in. Less than five minutes after we entered the room, he knocked to ask for the car key to check the oil. My boyfriend thought it seemed fishy, and we saw from the balcony that he handed the key to another customer. That really soured our first impression. We also asked about tours and places to visit. He said we could use the bike and that he’d ask about a tour, but never got back to us. Veryyyy disappointed!

The staff were really great and friendly, and the room was big. But the bed was very hard, and there was no heater or air conditioning, so it was about as cold inside as outside.

Nothing fancy, but the hotel was quite okay. The rooms were clean and the area quiet. From the upper-floor windows there’s a nice view of the lake.
