Sao Mai Beach Resort

The beach is lovely, with white sand, clear water, yellow flowers along the shore, and a beautiful sunrise. The place itself feels wild and peaceful, a real sanctuary for the soul. The local staff are warm and friendly, and Mr. Bao, the owner, is very hospitable and knowledgeable. Whether you're walking by the water or just sitting in the quiet surroundings, it's a wonderful nature retreat.

The rooms are good and the staff are great. There's private access to a nice, clean beach, making this an amazing place to stay in Phu Yen.

My family of nine appreciated the hospitality from the regular resort staff during our stay. What left us unhappy was the management and the dated facilities, which fell well short of what I'd expect from a place called a 5-star resort. Several doors around the property, including bathroom and front doors, were in poor shape. These seemed like issues routine maintenance could have handled. The bigger shock came on Saturday night, when guests were allowed to sing karaoke by the pool through large outside speakers. The villas are right beside the pool, so the noise disrupted our stay and probably the rest of the resort too. The receptionist told us this was allowed under the gala dinner policy, but not having a proper event space shouldn't mean disturbing everyone's peace. Poor management overshadowed what might have been a great experience. I wouldn't recommend the resort to friends or family, and we won't be back.

The resort is one of the earliest in Phu Yen, and it's easy to reach, about 15 minutes from the railway station and 30 from the airport. We had huge rooms with spacious bathrooms, and the beach was clean and beautiful, with lovely sunrise and sunset views. Service was great and the food was amazing too. Ask about the Mai Nha island tour. Its untouched beauty is stunning.
