La Vita Hotel

We were awake most of the night because of a knocking sound in the bedroom. My partner was frightened and couldn’t sleep. In the morning, my Vietnamese partner explained it to a man, who came in and looked around but couldn’t figure out where it was coming from. He just shrugged and left. When we said we’d write a negative review, he told us to go ahead. He was arrogant and very ignorant. We won’t be back.

We stayed from 22.-30.3.2024, quite a long visit to Vung Tau. La Vita has a great location, nice rooms and pool area, and friendly staff. I’d give the place a strong 4+ overall, mostly because the location is worth a million dollars. The staff were welcoming even when understanding each other was a bit difficult, and Google Translator worked well. They had smiles for us too. The location couldn’t be better: Pullman is across the street, Lotte Mart is a couple of minutes’ walk away, and The Back Beach is close by. The sea is polluted, so I wouldn’t recommend swimming, but it’s still a short walk. Everything we needed was nearby. Location: 5/5. Service was very good and friendly. I didn’t notice the doorbell when the iron curtain was closed after a fiesta with some nice Vietnamese folks, and I’m sorry I knocked hard on the wall after missing it. Service: 5/5. The rooms were cleaned properly, and the air-conditioning worked, although it switched off randomly. Waking up sweating was frustrating. There was a small refrigerator that kept our late supper and breakfast ingredients, along with water, cool. The shower was separated from the rest of the bathroom by glass walls, which was nice, but the water pressure could be better. The temperature kept changing. Since it was over 32C all the time, a coldish shower was fine for cooling down. The room could be better. 3+/5.

The room was super clean, and the bed and pillows were amazingly comfortable. This is a cute little hotel with a clean pool, though it had a lot of chlorine. We were there over the Independence weekend, so there were plenty of families. The shower temperature wasn’t reliably hot, but Vung Tau was so hot that the cold water didn’t bother us much. Our stay was satisfactory overall. The kids and other loud guests were hard to deal with, and I didn’t enjoy waking up to screaming every morning. That’s the downside of traveling during a holiday weekend, I guess, and not the hotel’s fault. It might not be the best choice for couples during holidays.

There are trees all around the rooms, giving the place a pleasant garden feel. It’s a standard Vietnamese hotel done well, with very friendly staff. I’ll definitely stay again.
