Mermaid Seaview Apartment Vung Tau

We booked a three-bedroom apartment, then were told to wait five minutes for the key. Fifteen minutes later, we heard that the owner was coming to bring it, but then suddenly someone said she was already upstairs at the room. We expected the bellhop to take us up, since the elevator needed a key card, but he disappeared. The place was so disorganized that we asked for a refund. I can’t say whether the rooms are nice, since we never got to stay. That was our experience, sadly.

The location by the sea is great, but the room rental service is a big question mark. The owner of apartment 1 on the 12th floor doesn’t live here or nearby and manages things remotely by phone, so whether your needs get dealt with when something goes wrong seems to come down to luck. Please read the other reviews before choosing this building for an overnight stay in Vung Tau. I’m sharing this honestly because I want people to have a real vacation without wasting their time and money and ending up frustrated. The apartment is described as “fantastic,” but the smart TV is very old and falls short of what you see in other rentals. The refurbished air conditioner blows across the whole room, even with a desk fan helping, and its remote won’t set the temperature you want. Room service left the place dirty, so be ready to clean it yourself and unclog the blocked drain. There’s no drinking water, even as a complimentary item. The reused beds, bedside cabinets and mattresses weren’t in the condition I expected, and the hair dryer rattles like a gun. Parking is free by the roadside, with petty theft and things like broken glass or wipers apparently treated as a bonus, ha. 😡 I’ll never come back. I’d give it one star, but I’m adding one for the location near the sea, to be objective.
