We booked this at the last minute for a Tet trip to Vung Tau, when most hotels were already full, so our expectations were average. If you want a mini pool, breakfast buffet, small gym or beachfront location, this isn’t the place. But for a pet-friendly homestay with good service, it worked well for us. What they lack in amenities, they make up for with hospitality. They seemed sincere about helping with requests. We saw the Ao Dai display in the lobby and asked how much it cost to rent; they said we could use them for free, which was a lovely gesture. We also asked about a nearby laundry shop, and they offered to let us leave laundry in the lobby so they could help. Many shops were probably closed for Tet. We ended up not needing to, since we still had clean clothes. We stayed in the balcony room called Mo Tu, where you can see the lighthouse. The rate was still affordable even during Tet. My one small complaint about the room is that a few cabinets would be useful, since it gets cluttered if you bring a lot of things. The location is okay, right at the far end of an alley, and without a motorbike it feels a bit distant. It’s perhaps a 15-minute walk to the beach. There’s a small lake four minutes away on foot, though, which is nice for a sunrise jog with views of the mountain and the statue of Jesus. The place sits between the front and back beaches, so it’s easy to explore both. They also rent motorbikes and offered us a cheaper rate during Tet, which we didn’t expect. It really did feel like a homestay, and the service made the stay memorable. We’ll definitely be back.
