iRelax Bangkok Resort

I arrived for breakfast at 8:30 am, even though it was supposed to run from 7 to 9, and there was no food left. They just said that was all, which was ridiculous. Some essentials were missing from the villa, and the property needs improvement because it’s looking a bit run down. I won’t come back and wouldn’t recommend it.

The staff were helpful, and the rooms were good. Food and seafood were reasonably priced. It’s a nice, quiet resort, with a movie and a swimming pool. You can rent a bike and ride about 6 km to the beach.

It’s clean and tidy, but that’s about the only good thing I can say. The food was poorly cooked and pricey, there are no spa services, and it’s exceptionally noisy with karaoke going all day. My bungalow shook badly whenever the door shut. It’s not really set up for westerners, though it’s okay for a night or two. If you want to feel cooked like a lobster, try one of the cylindrical micro cabins 😱

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the place had a nice feel to it. The city is some distance away, nobody spoke English, and we felt like people had rarely seen a white person, but they were kind to us. The resort is still being built, and I think it could be a great break from noisy Saigon once the work is finished. It really needs English-speaking staff and motorbike rental. We had a standard room. The room itself was okay, but the bathroom floor felt a bit fake and made me dizzy. The glass building shook when people moved around. Breakfast was a buffet on the weekend when locals were there; otherwise, it was just eggs or noodle soup. The coffee was pretty horrible. The beach was far away. With a bike it’s okay, but from the resort you have to pay for a transfer and 40k beach entrance. Lunch and dinner were ordinary and expensive. They had a nice menu, but when we ordered, they said only a few things were available. We ordered chicken wings, got two wings, and paid double!!!!!!
