The views are stunning and the snorkelling is beautiful, which are the main saving graces here. The staff are also wonderful: kind, welcoming, hardworking and doing their best in difficult circumstances. They deserve much better support. We booked through flight centre because the resort was advertised as adults only, but eight children were staying there during our visit. That was disappointing, especially for guests who chose it expecting an adults-only setting. The rooms were clean, but tired and outdated, and looked nothing like the photos online. The pool couldn’t be used because the rotten decking around it was unsafe. It was upsetting to see how hard the staff were working. We saw shifts of 12+ hours, including one from 7am until 10:30pm, followed by a return at 6:30am. The kitchen was in a horrible state and barely functional, so meals took a long time. That clearly wasn’t the chef’s fault, but a result of the lack of proper working facilities. Food and drink supplies were also very poor, with few options. The owner has a lot to answer for. This is no way to run a business or treat staff. The setting and people give the resort so much potential, but serious investment and improvements are needed, particularly from the owner. As it is, it doesn’t meet expectations or match how it’s represented online.

We had to add two days to our Vanuatu trip, so at the last minute we booked Coco beach resort, close to our previous villa. The setting is amazing, with great snorkelling, sunset views and free kayak access. For the price, though, the resort itself is extremely run down. The staff are lovely and can’t be faulted, but they’re spread across too many jobs and don’t have enough support. It shows in the food, room cleanliness and general attentiveness. The owner hasn’t invested the time or effort in the resort to match the price being charged, and has left the staff in the deep end.

The booking photos looked at least 5 years old and bore no resemblance to what we found. The pool wasn’t usable, and the rooms were badly kept, with moldy pillows and mattresses, rotten shelves and beams, broken windows and gaps everywhere. The AC was too small to help, especially with large areas of shade cloth. We left soon after arriving and found Paradise Cove a few doors away, which was 100% better and more affordable. Locals all seemed to know that COCO BEACH was a total scam. I’m fighting for a refund and trying to make sure others know not to go here!

No complaints for the price. It’s quiet and relaxing. For the airport transfer, ask for the Jackson Bus. Great guy, helpful and with a great attitude. I’d stop at the supermarket on the way in to pick up essentials and snacks.
