Moana Hou Hôtel

The shared kitchen let everyone cook whatever they liked, and my room had a fridge, a large bathroom with a toilet, and a splendid view of the sea. Toli, the owner, gave me a warm, efficient welcome that made the place feel like home. I had a very pleasant stay.

The room was dirty, the pillows were moldy, and equipment was faulty or broken. Towels weren’t changed and housekeeping wasn’t done. We had to complain about toilet paper for three days. Service was practically nonexistent. The receptionist treated us like idiots. The bill was higher than the quoted price, and we were asked to pay in cash. It came across as: they don’t need tourists, don’t care about us, and are perfectly happy among themselves. Avoid at all costs!

The price was reasonable, the welcome very friendly, and the room was clean and spacious, with a TV, fridge, air conditioning, and a large bathroom. The hotel also looks out over the stunning Wallis lagoon.

From the room’s balcony, watching the sunrise over Wallis is a rare pleasure. The hotel itself is simple and clean, with large, comfortable rooms and exceptionally friendly service.
