Addo African Home

We spent two nights in the deluxe rondnavel, and this has been our favorite stay in South Africa so far. The modern rooms were lovely, and the staff made us feel properly looked after. We enjoyed the restaurant too, both the food and the friendly service. On our game drive we saw so many animals in a couple of hours that it would have taken us a whole day to find them on our own. The pool was a relaxing spot to enjoy the African sun.

There aren’t any bars or restaurants within walking distance for the evening, but we were happy eating at the hotel. The food was exceptional, and the service was lovely. Our room was beautiful and comfortable, and having a car made it easy to get to a supermarket and safari activities. The staff were warm, welcoming, and really attentive throughout our two nights. They even surprised us with thoughtful extras for our special occasion, which we appreciated. The nearby train could be heard now and then and slightly interrupted the peace, though the accommodation can’t control that. We’d definitely recommend staying here.

The restaurant was a real highlight. The food and service were spot on, and I love that they train people from townships to work as cooks and waiters, helping young adults build a better life. It’s a great idea, and the team clearly knows what they’re doing. The rooms were spacious and lovely, and we even got to spend one night in a little hut. The place felt like a fabulous oasis. I can only recommend this gem!

The restaurant serves fantastic meals, and the staff are keen and well managed, even though some are still in industry training. The place is clean and tidy, and you can tell it’s lovingly cared for, though it isn’t a luxury establishment. Good value for money. If you book a game drive, ask for Donald with AddoXplore.
