Chrislin African Lodge

Unfortunately, we had a very bad experience. Bats were a known problem, apparently, and one hit the fan before falling half-dead onto my face while I was falling asleep. We found another dead bat on the floor the next morning. We were moved to a better room temporarily for the night, but the next day the other hut we were put in had bats too. The manager only joked about it. There was no apology or compensation, and at the end we were asked if we wanted to tip. At this price point, we expected a different response, even knowing this is SA.

We loved our stay. The place felt very secure, the restaurant was lovely with very good food, and the staff made us feel welcome and helped us out. We booked the safari for the next day when we arrived, and it was absolutely amazing. With crisscross adventures, our guide Densley made it fun and special, and we saw the Big Five and more in one day. From Tracey and Fred from the UK.

The restaurant was amazing, with stunning food at great value, and breakfast there was fabulous too. The rooms were brilliant, and the pool and all the spots to relax made this quiet place easy to enjoy. There were lots of extra touches around the place, towels and such. If you like wildlife, it’s a must, day or night. There’s a fridge in the room and a well-equipped Spar close by. The Safari Parks are nearby, and you could easily spend a week here. Loved it, and I’ll absolutely be back!

A really nice lodge, with clean rooms and a cozy garden, pool, and playground area. The food was tasty, especially Ivy’s freshly made bread and breakfast. I’d highly recommend it and would come back.
