The verandah and bar overlook the river, and both are lovely. Walking was enjoyable too. An interesting stay.

No aircon or mosquito nets in rooms, despite being in a malaria area. The mosquitos will carry you away.

There’s plenty to offer travellers who want wildlife in a peaceful setting. It’s a distinctive bushveld retreat, but a little more attention to detail is needed for it to earn five stars.
