Guest House on Gillian Unit 5

The unit looked clean at first, but the blinds were dirty and had no cords to open or close them. The oven switch was missing. The pillows were filthy, with no protectors, and the fillings were lumpy and offered no support. I took the cases off to check and have photos. We had to sleep without pillows, and the bed had no mattress protector either. On top of that, the unit had been double-booked. We felt sorry for the people who arrived late and found us there, and there were no other rooms available. We won’t be back.

The worst service I’ve ever had. I booked one room but was given another, full of cockroaches and dirty linen. I complained several times, but they kept me quiet after they’d already taken the money.

The owner was lovely and accommodating, and the place is close to major stores and the beach. It’s well kept, and the owner is gracious. The cleaning staff, though, were rude and couldn’t manage conflict well. The cleaning manager wasn’t dressed appropriately and didn’t show basic customer care. They could use training in diversity, conflict management, and professional conduct. It’s a service business, after all.

Three weeks before my planned stay, I booked at Guest House on Gullian, but they made a mistake and double-booked the room. Even though I had booked first, they gave priority to the other guest, leaving me to find somewhere else. Getting answers took a long time, and the manager wasn’t helpful, blaming the booking website instead. I was asked for my banking details before the problem had even been resolved, which felt unprofessional. The lack of accountability and customer care was disappointing. Be aware of the chance of a double booking if you’re considering staying at Guest House on Gullian.
