The ocean views are incredible, and outside school holidays this seems like a great place to book if you want some peace. During the holidays, that may be harder. We had a group in town for rugby at the stadium, and they were loud while having a braai in the middle of the building. Kids were running about and knocking on doors. I understand kids will be kids, but with a 3 month old baby, that much noise and the door knocking were a different matter. Speaking to a group of drunk men didn't help either. There should be stricter management, and perhaps guests need to be reminded of the rules after 22h00.

Whenever I’m in Ballito, this is easily one of my favorite places to stay.

The one thing we liked was Kenwyn on Sea's beachside location, along with the yard facilities and braai areas. But that couldn't make up for the poor service and lack of WiFi. We stayed in Flat#6, and the room smelled strongly unpleasant. The cupboards and wardrobes smelled moldy, the stove was rusty, and the cleaners hadn't done a thorough job. Check-in was chaotic too. We waited over an hour for keys, which were only available at a nearby petrol garage. During our five days, we weren't given clean towels. When we asked for our security deposit back, we were accused of taking a towel, which we hadn't. The room was poorly maintained as well, with a closet door coming off its hinges. We avoided using it so it wouldn't get worse, but were still blamed for the damage. It wasn't fair to hold us responsible for an issue that was already there. We left disappointed and wouldn't recommend Kenwyn on Sea (Flat 6).

Direct access to the beach was the best part of our stay at 401. The complex also has a well kept pool and braai areas with mini lapas. The place felt homey and clean, our host was friendly, and the directions we needed to follow were straightforward.
