We were visiting Mabula game reserve and stopping at private lodges in the area to ask about accommodation and rates for a future trip. At Wild and Free, the owner came over without asking why we were there and simply chased us away, saying we were trespassing on their lodge. As potential clients, we got neither a friendly welcome nor any respect.

The food Chef Jabu prepared was phenomenal, and Chef Jabu made sure everyone was satisfied. We were there during the 19-22 October 2020 school break at Wild & Free Game Lodge at Mabula. Because of covid19, it was just my family of three, looked after by four excellent staff members, and we were treated like VVIPs. We felt so blessed. The lodges were excellent, the surroundings breathtaking, and the place was private, peaceful, and great for relaxing. I highly recommend it.

A lovely small lodge for the quiet you want. It accommodates 10 people, and the rooms are spaced far apart, giving you privacy from the others. A must visit.

The bush drives were a highlight, with plenty of wildlife and interesting information. I could happily do more of them. The stay itself was peaceful and comfortable, and the food was delicious. The people were so warm and the service so good, it felt like being with old friends or family. What a lovely place.
