The room was cleaned while I was out shopping, the bedding was fresh, and everything I left behind was still exactly where it had been. That gave me confidence in the staff's honesty and professionalism. They also replaced the soap each day, a small touch I appreciated. Breakfast from Wimpy arrived in my room almost straight away after I ordered it, and the room service was excellent. I stayed Friday night at Ecotel Premier Lodge and had a really lovely time. Even with renovation work going on, it was quiet and well managed enough that I barely noticed. The air-conditioner remote needs fresh batteries, though, because it was hard to control the AC. It would also be useful to have a couple of bottles of water in the mini bar in case someone needs water urgently. I'd happily recommend Ecotel Premier Lodge and hope to stay again.

Renovations started working by 7 am, and we couldn't rest. Our function ran much later than expected, so we barely had time to sleep as it was. The place has promise, but it's still being renovated. Sadly, there's no food served, and the televisions weren't working.

The location was great, and the receptionist was kind and tried to help, but I was still very disappointed. The bedding was dirty even after I asked for clean ones, and the toilet hadn't been cleaned properly. Construction noise carried on late, with other disturbing sounds outside, so I barely slept. Management wouldn't give us a refund or discount. They said preparations for a weekend wedding had caused the disruption. It left me feeling that our comfort didn't matter.

The place itself is nice, but I didn't enjoy my stay. I paid R600 in cash for a one-night stay that cost R587, and they said I couldn't have my change. I don't mind tipping, but I should get to choose. The headboard in my room was torn, there was no body lotion after I bathed, and I couldn't find the Wi-Fi password. There were only two sugar sachets for coffee, enough for one drink.
