SUN1 Benoni

The air conditioning only blew cold air, with no heat, and there was constantly water on the floor. I couldn't report it to reception when leaving because nobody was there. The receptionist had been unfriendly and didn't smile, and made us feel like we didn't belong.

There were footprints on the wall by the window, white stains on the dirty carpet, and urine on the toilet wall. I wasn't impressed at all.

We left at 11:00 PM and found somewhere else to stay because we felt unsafe and unsupported. When we checked in at SUN1 Benoni, we were assured security would watch the vehicles, and that was a key reason we chose the hotel. But when someone tried to break into our vehicle, the guard and on-site security did nothing. They brushed it off by saying the person was drunk and had gone to the wrong car. Our dashcam footage showed deliberate tampering. It was a deeply disappointing experience, and I wouldn't recommend the property to anyone who cares about security and peace of mind. SUN1 Benoni needs to take serious steps to address this if it wants to regain guests' trust.

Everything else was good and we had a peaceful night. Checking in so late with children was stressful, though, because the receptionist took a long time to accommodate us. The receptionist we found at checkout was very good and polite.
