It feels like coming home after a long trip. This is a home, not just a guesthouse, and Mrs Bester is the sweetest old lady, she reminds you of your grandmother. The staff are friendly too. A private, secure place to get away from the busy city when you’re in Bloemfontein. I’d recommend it for business or pleasure.

We spent a week at this guesthouse while visiting my sister in Universitas Hospital. Dalene and Patricia were a winning team, and the service was exceptional. The place is beautifully kept and clean, and the food was devine. I meant to ask for the bobotie recipe but forgot!

The gardens are beautiful, and the service was great. It’s a beautifully appointed place, with rooms that have a historical feel.

It’s a decent place to sleep, but you’re not allowed to put your things in the fridge. There’s no ironing board or iron unless you pay them to do your ironing.
