The hotel was comfortable and well located, with an excellent frontline team. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean, and the amenities were practical and well maintained: a mini fridge, kettle, hairdryer, ironing board and iron. The TV and air conditioning worked as expected. The concierge and security guards were consistently present, courteous and proactive with lifts and luggage. A sincere thanks to Achuma and Jade at the front desk for being welcoming, efficient and thoughtful. They made sure our room was ready and arranged a lovely birthday message and cake for my husband. Zetu from housekeeping was also exceptional, friendly and attentive, and kept our room to a high standard. The main issue was breakfast. Several guests mentioned the same concerns, so this seems to be a recurring problem. As Hindus, we’re vegan on certain days and on others eat only chicken, with no beef or pork. The chef kindly prepared soya, but it was the only vegan protein throughout our stay, served again on each vegan day. For a paid buffet breakfast, that didn’t feel reasonable or appropriate. In practice there was soya, chicken sausage or chicken livers, with little else. More generally, the buffet lacked variety and thoughtful rotation. Vegan choices were limited to soya, plain pumpkin, or mushroom and eggplant dishes that were mostly under-seasoned and uninspired. The food manager and culinary team need to make substantial menu changes. Repeated complaints without visible improvement point to weak quality control and poor response to guests. The lack of a microwave was disappointing too. I understand it may be a Garden Court-wide policy, but many hotels at both lower and higher star levels provide one, so its absence stands out against current guest expectations. Charging separately for Garden Court parking also felt unreasonable for a hotel in this category. And guests weren’t allowed to eat takeaway in the common waiting areas while waiting for rooms, which was impractical and unnecessarily restrictive.

Our room was lovely and comfortable, with a nice view of the pool. The hotel is well placed for the Waterfront, shops and restaurants within walking distance. Everyone we dealt with, from reception to the restaurant staff and chef, was pleasant and friendly. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it. Looking forward to coming back.

The kids loved the fantastic pool, and our family had another great stay. Staff were friendly, and the rooms were acceptable, clean and tidy. It would be handy to have USB charging ports in the rooms. Could the pool stay open until 9pm in summer, during the festive season, instead of closing at 7? Night swims are lovely on a family getaway, especially when the sun sets later. Thanks, guys! 👍

The room was a little dated, though still comfortable, and the food was reasonable with no real complaints. Staff were amazing and did their best to help with any questions or issues. It’s about a 20-minute walk to the V&A Waterfront or Green Market in town.
