Apartment 1020 had what we needed and was fairly clean, though the windows could have been better. We loved the place, especially the view of Table Mountain from the windows. The location made getting to lots of Cape Town spots easy. The building gym is small, with very few machines and barbells, but it works for a quick daily workout.

You can get to Food Lovers Market, Gardens shopping center and Grand Parade from this building, with Company Gardens, the District 6 museum and the city library also accessible for a walk or visit. There’s plenty of indoor parking across the first seven floors. The apartments are very nice and well maintained, and the staff are friendly. My favorite feature was the view from the top, where there’s also a pool beside the gym for a dip on hot summer days. Just note that the gym has no treadmills if you like to run indoors.

The room wasn’t properly cleaned when I arrived, and a broken blind had left pieces on the floor. I cancelled my six-night reservation and asked for a full refund. After some back and forth, I did manage to get the refund. If cleanliness and excellence matter to you, I’d avoid this place. The pictures gave me the wrong impression.

Our flight to Southa africa was cancelled, but the host at 1013 apartment (airbnb), Bespoke letting company, would not refund us. They showed no understanding or empathy and wouldn’t consider our circumstances, saying only that it wasn’t fair to the airbnb host. The worst host I’ve ever dealt with. Greedy scammers!

The elevators crawl and stop at nearly every floor. The access setup is also a mess: security guards seem to expect tips before letting your friend in. They wouldn’t admit him even when he showed his passport or when I sent a QR code. Then, when you go downstairs, they scold you for the system glitch as if it were your fault.
