Blue Bay Lodge

At (Blue) Bay Social Club, the beautiful setting and inviting warm water make it easy to forget real life for a while. The whole place feels relaxed and carefree, and things seem to slow down as soon as you arrive. The food was fresh, full of flavour, and clearly made with care. Service was friendly and attentive, and I felt well looked after without it being overdone. I’d rate it 20 out of 10. Can’t recommend it enough, and I’m already planning another visit.

Bluebay Lodge & Resort has gorgeous views and a relaxing feel, and the service was excellent throughout. Jaydon at the bar deserves a special mention. He served beautifully made, delicious cocktails with warmth and professionalism, and his great energy made our visit even more memorable. We can’t wait to come back.

The beach in the bay is a nice place to relax and swim, though windy days aren’t ideal. There’s a hot-water pool, a cool pool, a small jumping castle, table tennis, and a decent tennis court, but bring your own balls. It works well for little kids, and the older ones can roam around relatively safely. WiFi is decent, and the DSTV bouquet is adequate. Some TVs are smart, so you can load Prime or Netflix. The house rentals are great, while the main hotel rooms are tiny, though larger ones are available. Rooms that share a geyser have competition for hot water. The amenities are otherwise good. The restaurant is a bit expensive and has no halal food, but it’s fine for coffee or a milkshake.

Jay was such a friendly, kind young guy, and the best bartender. His cocktails were the most delicious I’ve ever had. Thanks to Blue Bay Lodge for having staff like him. I’ll be back for Jay’s drinks!
