There was a good Wi-Fi connection, but I wouldn’t recommend bringing family here. Our room had very little space, and the bathroom was worse. I have a big body and had to squeeze into the tiny shower. We found boxes of cigarettes under the bed, which made the place seem suited to people looking to have fun for a few hours and leave. The residents at the lodge smoked weed all the time despite the no-smoking sign, and talked late into the night with music on, so we could hear them while trying to sleep. We were told off for making noise, but the permanent residents were noisier and weren’t reprimanded. We also had to wash our own dishes, or the night receptionist would knock. There was just so much going on. A 🐀 ate our maize meal. There weren’t basic kitchen things or a braai stand either. Maybe it’s a place to rest for a few hours if you’re extremely tired, then leave.

The rooms smelled terrible, and there’s a mechanic workshop next door. There are doggy people inside the premises too. The place was awful. Unless you’re really stranded, look somewhere else.

We had the worst experience and won’t return. I’d rather pay more to be treated properly than pay less and be treated like a lizard. I’m 100% disappointed. My wife and I found red stains on our pillows and couldn’t sleep on them. When I asked the receptionist for different pillows or pillowcases, she refused and blamed my wife. Then she asked if my wife was sick or on her period. When we asked for help, she seemed not to understand English, answered the opposite of what we requested, and became aggressive. At one point we needed an adaptor. I went to find her, but she wouldn’t come out to talk and answered me from under her blankets in her sleeping room instead of the reception office. How crazy is that?

It wasn’t a nice night. Music played all night, and there was no warm water for a shower.
