The owner and staff made me feel at home, and they suggested some great places to visit. The location is fantastic, right in the middle of the action, with a train station and other transport links nearby to get around Cape town. Supermarkets are five minutes away, and there’s a liquor store across the road. The dorm beds are lovely to sleep on and the rooms are comfortable. I loved the balconies, with a good view of the street and all the comings and goings of Observatory. Really awesome place. I’ll be back with friends.

The hostel has been a second home to me since my first visit in 2017. I’ve made so many friends for life there, and I’ll be back many times. The staff are lovely, and it’s a wonderful hostel. Obz is a great place to stay in Cape Town, with its little shops, bars, restaurants and cafés. The hostel is perfectly located and has a lovely balcony facing the main road. Inside, it has a cool old feel, with wooden floors and lots of art. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the kitchen is well equipped.

We spent about a week here with friends and had a really pleasant stay. It felt homely, the hosts were friendly and gave us useful tips for Cape Town, and there were plenty of ideas for things to do at the Loft. Restaurants, shops, and public transport are close by. It’s affordable too, and I’d choose it first next time I’m in Cape Town. I’d recommend it to visitors looking for somewhere to stay.

Affordable, with a lovely view over Observatory. The lofts are handy for a lot of bars and thrift shops, and the friendly staff help give the place a great atmosphere for young people looking for adventure. I’d happily recommend it.

The neighbourhood is a lot of fun, with plenty of bars right next door, though it can get noisy at night, so bring earplugs. I stayed for an improv festival and felt safe, as someone was always at reception. The room was great, and the staff were super friendly.
