Brenwin Guest House

The pool and seating area are great, and the location is even better. Customer service was nice too, but the rooms were a letdown and felt like false advertising from what I saw. It seemed like I'd booked a cheap room in Goodwood/ Bellville. There were old blood spots on the pillows, dents in the bed, and the carpets need replacing. The TV only had four channels.

There’s no secure parking, which was my biggest issue. You have to parallel park on a very narrow street, with nobody to help with your luggage, then leave the car unattended there overnight. There are no car guards either. The room I stayed in also looked less modern than the website photos suggested. On the good side, Brenwin guest has a warm feel, the staff are very friendly, and it’s a great location within walking distance of the V&A waterfront and DHL stadium.

Our room, number 1, was noisy, and it got cold when the wind blew, which brought my rating to just under 4. The beds were good, though, and the atmosphere and service were nice. Breakfast was fine too. Come to V&A as well.

The interior feels a little dated, and the dining room could use a furniture rearrangement. I kept bumping into the coffee stand. Still, we had such lovely help from everyone. Heather at reception was helpful, Chef Caroline was gracious and easygoing, and Janet, our cleaning fairy, also served our breakfast. Mischack made me feel very safe. Lovely view, soft bed linen, and thick towels.
