Cape Pine Guest House

It looks clean at first, but once you look closer it’s filthy, and there’s a bad smell as soon as you walk in. The bedding and walls were dirty, and the Wi-Fi wasn’t up to standard. The place also falls short of how it appears on the website. I wouldn’t recommend it.

It was cold in the room, with no heating, and the furniture was old and worn. The linen and toilet were dirty too. There wasn’t even a basin in the bathroom, and no comfortable shower or basin elsewhere to get drinking water. The bathroom had no curtains, and the receptionist was unfriendly. Filthy.

The staff were friendly and decent, and the place itself was pretty decent too. I had no problems, and felt free to ask for anything I needed.

We arrived on Friday the 13th and had to start by sweeping the lounge and putting everything in order, as if nobody expected us. The guest house was unbelievably filthy. The kitchen was the worst, with cockroaches all over and a smell coming from the cupboards. There were no detergents, and even the hand towels were so dirty. I couldn’t eat that night because I kept imagining eating a cockroach. With hygiene so vital during the pandemic, I’m not sure this guest house understands what that means. I’ve never seen a place this dirty in my life. A lot needs to be done. I’m sorry, but I’m at a loss for words.
